We’re the reason it looks effortless.

Somebody has to think of everything. It shouldn’t be you.

Community happens online.

It doesn’t have to stay there.

Christi and Alise are here to make your community dreams come true!

Something real can be built in a comment section, a Discord, a podcast audience, a Substack chat. People who’ve never met start by showing up for a creator and begin showing up for each other. Eventually somebody says: we should all get together.

And then what?

It’s a good idea, but it’s a lot of work. The person who built the community in the first place already has enough on their plate. Getting fifty people into one place for three days is a full-time job with a hundred ways it can go wrong.

That’s the gap we exist to fill. We take the entire operation — the venue, the contracts, the budget, the schedule, the dietary restrictions, the day-of details — and we run it. Creators walk in as a guest at their own event. The community comes together and real friendships develop or evolve to the next level.

Meet Christi

Christi Matthews designs the retreat and runs it on the ground. She’s the one negotiating with the venue, building the itinerary, and standing in the lobby when you arrive.

Her attendees describe her the same way over and over: she knows everyone’s name, she never seems flustered, and she’s thought of things they didn’t know to ask for.

Christi is based in Las Vegas, but travels the world in every moment she can.

Meet Alise

Alise Napp runs everything behind the retreat. Contracts, budgets, registration, payments, systems, and the unglamorous infrastructure that keeps a three-day event from becoming a spreadsheet emergency.

She also runs an independent operations practice, where she builds back-office systems for creators, small businesses, and nonprofits — which is exactly the skill set that lets Verdancy handle your attendees’ money and your vendor contracts without you having to think about either.

She’s based in Charlotte with her husband and son. She loves to travel, read, and cook. She writes about how she spends her limited free time on her Substack, Napp Time.

How We Work

It stays your event.

Your community showed up for you, not for us. We build the retreat to feel like your brand, and we stay mostly in the background, setting the stage for you to shine.

We manage the details.

We sign the venue and vendor contracts, collect the registrations, and manage the money. You get some of the profit, but none of the stress.

We’re new. The work isn’t.

Verdancy Retreats launched in 2026, but we’ve been putting retreats together since 2024. The people who have traveled with us before keep coming back — enough for us to launch Verdancy.

What attendees say…

“They had my sh*t together for me, and I didn’t even know I needed that — as a normally has-her-sh*t-together person.”

— Attendee, 70-person community retreat, Cincinnati

“They promised a chance to check out responsibilities at the door, and boy did they deliver!”

— Attendee, local bookshop retreat

“After two decades in Corporate America and countless events, conferences, and retreats, I can say without hesitation that Christi is the most exceptional event planner I’ve ever encountered.”

— Attendee, 70-person community retreat, Cincinnati
